Ad: The Rite of Spring Pagan Propaganda Poster
This anachronistic take on the subject of The Rite of Spring ritual presented in the classic 1913 ballet suggests what a modern propaganda poster might have looked like during the time of the ancient pagan Slavs. Inspired by Nicholas Roerich's costumes and Vaslav Nijinsky's choreography the "Chosen One" is depicted glamorously standing in her iconic pose surrounded by the tribe's Edlers in bear skins. The young maiden is portrayed as a model for all the other potential sacrificial victims with the suggestion that there is no greater honor than to die for the tribe's benefit when their Sun God Yarilo demands a young virgin to ensure spring's return each year.
